The customer wanted to measure the air flow velocity in the continuous oven. Our engineering services consisted of selecting a suitable sensor, developing a hardware interface and integrating it into the existing system, as well as adapting the software for storing the new data.
In a research environment, there was a desire to have more than the seven thermocouples available in the standard version. The number was increased to 23 thermocouples. To achieve this, the necessary additional electronics had to be integrated into the existing system and the software had to be adapted.
For use in the automotive industry, a communication standard commonly used there via a so-called AK interface was required. We implemented the protocol for controlling the measuring device and reading out the data in accordance with the recommendations of the German Association of the Automotive Industry.
Even a housing height of 50 mm was too high for a continuous process. We were able to reduce the size of the measuring device slightly to a height of 42 mm, enabling measurements to be carried out in this case as well.
